Hi, I am still trying to think of more things for my worldbuilding post, but I’m still trying to come up with ideas! So I thought I might as well share some of the stupid magic items that I’ve made over the past, like, year and a half of DM’ing. Some of them are still useful but some are just garbage, only there for comic relief.
1) Circlet of Paranoia
Magic Item
The wearer does not take damage from Sneak Attacks, and cannot be Surprised. However, they also do not benefit from short or long rests because they cannot sleep.2) Diary of Automatic Recording
Wondrous Item
Records every day’s events by itself, writing onto its own pages. However, the book writes from its own perspective, not the party’s.3) Pet Rock
Wondrous Item
A rock with the appearance of a rock with a face poorly etched onto one side with charcoal.
When the command word is spoken, the rock transforms into a random beast of the DM’s Discretion that will protect the user for the next 24 hours. When the 24 hours ends, the Rock vanishes.4) Box O’ Bees
Summons 1d4+1 Swarms of Wasps when used as an action. They don’t particularly fight anyone, they’re just wasps.5) Hat of Conjure Explosive Animal
Wondrous Item
Once per day, as an action, a player can pull out a small, red, mirage-like rabbit. It has 1HP and an AC of 10. Once the creature hits 0HP, anything within a 5ft radius takes 5d4 fire damage as the rabbit explodes.6) Knuckles of Chuckles
Magic Weapon
A weapon that deals no damage. Whenever you hit a creature with it, they have to succeed on a DC10 Wisdom Saving Throw or begin laughing for the next 2 turns.
