Jordan Peele’s rebooting The Twilight Zone, which is awesome, but there is going to be a bunch of fake/racist sci-fi fans probably getting angry at him if he decides to do episodes about social issues specifically about race.

And let me just tell you as a HUGE Twilight Zone fan, the original show is 90% commentary on subjects like race, war, and even mental health.

Rod Serling was Jewish, and was known as the “angry young man” of Hollywood because he frequently butted heads with producers and execs over issues like the ones mentioned above. He supported anti-war presidential candidates and actively engaged in anti-war protests and activism. Because of his political and social beliefs, he was also against censorship in media. He wanted to use The Twilight Zone to talk about race, war, mental health, etc. The Twilight Zone was as much a political stage for him as it was a sci-fi show for viewers.
